My account was hacked after a week of being made… Instagram inst helpful at all. I only had one photo up too so.. Guess Instagram just inst for me.

Instagram isn’t very helpful…. I’ve been going round with them for three days now. They don’t want to help me because I can’t tell them the account email. Uhm…. The hacker changed it!

Don’t think I’ve made it to a real person, just an email bot…. Really disappointing how slow they have been to react to their internal issues.

My IG account was taken over. My photos are there but the profile pic is of some other person. When I went to “forgot password” IG replied sent link to reset to some unknown email! I have had this account for several years, same email and phone connected to the account. When I went to the screen IG has to report a problem, I could check “hacked account” but not able to add my email, nor could I send the alert that I was hacked. The “send to IG” was not abled.
I used some other contact method and IG sent a code to verify my account, however, I can not access my account to verify! Now it belongs to some hacker. I blocked the account reported it as SPAM in hopes IG may investigate? idk what to do?

This happened to me on Sunday. I’m a reporter in Canada and, as well as reporting it in the general boxes, also contacted their press department,. But it is not an easy fix. So far haven’t heard anything from IG, but I understand something like this might take time.

I have tried to contact Instagram and they responded that the person didn’t violate their practices. Could someone please tell me what I can do besides just hit the report option??

Mine was just hacked a few hours ago, was able to revert the email back using the link provided by the notification email from instagram. They also didn’t do anything except change the profile pick and name. Mine now has the dual authentication, it wasn’t set up previously

How do I get in touch with Instagram? My account name was changed by the hacker straight away and is no longer recognised- I can see my old profile in a new name but have no way of telling Instagram
